Simon Browne

Simon joined the board of The Manydown Rural Estate in October 2017. He is a partner in his own agricultural and diversified business of Meyrick Estates, situated just outside Winchester. He trained as a Chartered Surveyor at the RAC Cirencester but took over his family farm on graduating.

He was a director of a major agricultural cooperative for over 20 years and chairman of British Cereal Exports for six years as well as a member of the Morocco Britain Business Council. In addition to farming, Meyrick Estates has a number of public-facing enterprises which attract over 150,000 visitors per annum.

He has a particular interest in diversification on estates both for leisure and sport and continues to seek to develop new enterprises on his family's land.

Simon added: “I am always looking to see what might be possible with a piece of land other than the traditional uses, and am keen to see how the public can be encouraged and welcomed to use the enterprises created.”
